NOTE: No personal checks will be accepted. Cash, money orders, and cashiers checks are accepted, and should be made payable to the Third Judicial District Court.


FILING OF PLEADINGS AND PAPERS:

Pursuant to Rule 1-008.1. of the Civil Rules of Procedure provide that pleadings and papers filed in the district courts shall have a caption or heading which shall briefly include: A. (1) the name of the court, (2) the names of the parties; and, (3) a title which describes the cause of action or relief requested. The title of a pleading or paper shall have no legal effect in the action.

Complaint for Damages

Except exhibits and papers filed by electronic transmission pursuant to Rule 5-103.2 of the Rules of Civil Procedure, all pleadings and papers filed in the district court shall be clearly legible, shall be on good quality white paper eight and one-half by eleven (8 ½ x 11) inches in size, with a left margin of (1) inch, a right margin of one (1) inch, and top and bottom margins of one and one-half (1 ½) inches; with consecutive page numbers at the bottom; and stapled at the upper left hand corner; and, except for a cover page, shall be typed or printed using pica (10 pitch) type style or a twelve (12) point typeface. A space of at least two and one-half (2 ½) by and one-half (2 ½) inches for the clerk's recording stamp shall be left in the upper right-hand corner of the first page of each pleading. The contents, except quotations and footnotes, shall be double spaced. Exhibits which are copies of original documents may be reproduced from originals by any duplicating or copying process which produces a clear black image on white paper. The size of any exhibits shall be their original size or any smaller size not less than eight and one-half by eleven.


COPY REQUESTS AND FREE PROCESS:

Request for Copies and Tapes: Must be submitted when requesting copies from a file, court documents, tapes, certified copies, and exemplified copies.

Request for Free Process: A Free Process packet will need to be completed when a party is requesting free process.

Cover sheets (Civil and Domestic): Must be completed and submitted when filing a civil or domestic relations case with the court.
Request for Interpreter Form: Must be completed and submitted to the clerk's office when requesting an interpreter for a court proceeding.
Request for Court Call Telephonic Appearance: Must be completed and submitted not less than five (5) court days prior to the hearing.
